Eco-development / demonstration park at Kangla has
been implemented during the year 2005

About 600 Nos of NGO's /Clubs/Academic
Institutuons/Organisations were given financial assistance for
organising Environment Education/Awareness Programme to promote
local Environment Conscious Citizen/group

Installation of Light Emitting Diode (LED) display
Board for dissemination of Environment Information, Slogans for
creation of more meaningful Environmental Awareness to general
public has been taken up in April 2005 in two places of Imphal
City

Laboratory facilities like testing of water
quality, air quality etc. have also been extended towards the
State Government Departments as well as academic Institutions and
students.

More than 15/16 Research Scholars/P.G
Students/Researchers etc. from different Departments of Manipur
University, Jiwaji University, Gwalior,
Kurukshetra University, Hissar, Indira Gandhi Open University, New
Delhi etc. are getting laboratory facilities and technical
help every year from Environmental Research and Development
Laboratory.

International Events like World Environment Day
(June 5), World Wetlands Day (Feb 2), Biodiversity Day (May 22),
have been organized in every districts throughout the State.

The ENVIS Centre, Manipur, a project
sponsored by Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India has
so far created and
launched a website www.environmentmanipur.nic.in
based on the collected and prepared information which are
being updated from time to time. The ENVIS Centre Manipur has
published many newsletters and the same distributed to
different ENVIS
CENTRES.

The State of Environment Reports based on the Environmental Status
of Manipur is being finalized for onward submission to Ministry of
Environment and Forests, Government of India.

Installed RDS (Respirable Dust Sampler) in different places
of Imphal during 2005.
