Eco-Development Programme

Main aim and basic target of this scheme is to arrest further damage in the ecosystem of this state. Under this scheme the Wing is taking up many programmes like mass afforestation, landscaping and land development with tree plantation. The Wing has completed works pertaining to Road Median Plantation in and around Imphal City in the year 2005-06. Efforts are also being made to improve the State Botanical Garden at Khonghampat as well as to conserve biodiversity by conducting scientific study to identify threatened/ endangered/ extinct species of flora and fauna of the state.

Some of the significant achievements under this Scheme are :

	Eco development/demonstration park at Kangla has been implemented during the year 2005-06
	Ecological Park at Mayangkhang, Senapati District has been taken up during 2005-06
	Road Median Plantation in and around Imphal City has been successfully implemented during the year 2005-06 under this scheme
	Improvement work of the State Botanical Garden at Khonghampat is continuing as regular feature programme
